SlideQuest

Privacy policy

Effective 2 October 2026

Your progress is kept on your phone and in your Google Play Games account. SlideQuest shows ads: videos you choose to watch for a bonus, and an occasional full-screen ad at a break between sessions. Buying Ads off turns every ad off, and from the next launch after Google Play confirms you own it, the ads software no longer starts. We collect no email address or name.

Five things can leave your phone: your progress and achievements, sent to Google Play Games; data the Google AdMob ads software collects, unless you own Ads off; anonymous gameplay stats, which you can switch off; an automatic crash report if the game crashes, freezes or hits an internal error; and feedback you choose to send from a testing build.

This policy covers the SlideQuest Android game (app.dxnstudio.slidequest), published by DXN Studio. It describes what the game actually does, not a general template.

What stays on your phone

Your progress (level, experience, shells, which worlds and rooms you have reached, your team combos, best times and the date of your last daily gift) and your settings (camera, button position, sound, music, haptics and gift reminder hours) are saved in the game's private storage on the device. Your progress is also saved to Google Play Games, as described below, so it can follow you to another phone. Your settings stay on the device only. We do not receive any of it. Uninstalling the game deletes what is on the phone, but not what Google Play Games holds.

Reminders

If you turn on gift reminders, SlideQuest schedules one notification on your phone for when your next daily gift is ready. The reminder is created and kept on your phone only; nothing about it is sent to us or to anyone else. You can turn reminders off in Settings, under Gift reminders, or in Android's notification settings.

Google Play Games

SlideQuest signs you in through Google Play Games when you first open it, and needs a connection the first time. After one sign-in the game plays offline.

Advertising

SlideQuest shows two kinds of ad through Google AdMob. Rewarded videos appear only when you tap a button to watch one, such as reviving in a room, doubling a room's shells, restoring health between rooms, or the daily shell gift. Full-screen ads appear only at breaks: going back to the main menu from a world, continuing past a victory screen, and starting a world from world select. They are limited to at most one every 5 minutes of play, and none in the first 10 minutes. They never appear during a fight, the tutorial or the testing briefing. There are no banners. Ads show only while the game is paused or on a menu.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects data about your device rather than about your game. Where you are asked for consent, the ads SDK does not start until you have answered. What it collects typically includes:

SlideQuest does not pass your progress, your Play Games name or any other data about you to the ads software. Google's consent library (the User Messaging Platform) contacts Google each time the game starts, in every region, to learn whether a form applies to you.

Asking first, where that applies

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, SlideQuest shows a consent form the first time ads would start, after sign-in, before any ad is requested. The ads SDK does not start until you have answered. The form is Google's User Messaging Platform, a certified consent management platform.

If you decline, ads may change or stop. Google may then serve what it calls limited ads, which are not personalised and which do not access your advertising ID or other identifiers stored on your device, or it may serve none. The one exception Google names is that, where programmatic limited ads are enabled, storage may still be used to detect fraudulent and invalid traffic.

You can change your answer whenever you like: Settings, then Ad privacy. That reopens the same form. The row appears only where Google's form applies. In US states with privacy laws, the same row lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of your data for ads. If you do not see it, no form applies where you are, and ads are personalised as described above.

Google acts as an independent controller for the data its advertising SDK collects, and its own terms govern what it does with that data. Details are in Google's privacy policy and in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

You have direct control over the advertising ID on your phone, outside this game. In Android, under Settings, then Privacy (or Security and privacy), then Ads, you can reset the identifier or delete it entirely. Deleting it stops apps from receiving it.

SlideQuest is for players aged 13 and over. Ads are not aimed at children and are limited to content suitable for teens.

Turning ads off

When you buy Ads off, ads stop at once in that session. From the next launch after Google Play confirms you own it, the ads software is not started: no ad requests and no consent form. On a new install where Google Play is slow to answer, the ads software may start once before it does. Rewarded offers become Claim buttons that give the same bonus, with the same limits, without a video.

Purchases

Ads off is a one-time purchase sold through Google Play. Google Play handles the payment on its own purchase sheet, and the game never sees your card or other payment details. On your phone, Google Play tells the game that the account owns Ads off, as a purchase record: a purchase token, the product and its state. The game uses that to turn ads off and sends the token back only to Google, to confirm the purchase as Play requires. We do not collect it. As the publisher we can see order records for Ads off in Google Play Console (the product, date, country and order state, never payment details), under Google's terms.

The game keeps one small note on your phone saying that Ads off is owned, so it works offline, plus the counters that space out full-screen ads. Neither leaves the phone. On every launch the game asks Google Play again which products your Google account owns. That is how a new phone or a reinstall gets Ads off back by itself, and there is a Restore purchase button in Settings. A refund or revocation is picked up at the next successful check.

Anonymous stats

In builds that include them, SlideQuest sends anonymous gameplay stats to PostHog, a product analytics service, while Settings, then Anonymous stats is on. You can switch it off there. Each event carries a random install ID (not linked to your name, email or Google account), the device model, the Android version and the game's version. The events are: the game opened, and an ad offer was shown, taken or declined (which offer, nothing more). Like any internet request, they arrive from your IP address. Nothing personal is included, and no profile is built for you.

Crash reports

If SlideQuest crashes, stops responding or hits an internal error, it sends a report to Sentry, a service that collects crash reports for developers. A report contains:

Crash reports never include your name, contacts, location, photos or anything you typed. They are sent automatically, because a crash cannot wait for a question, and they are used only to find and fix problems in the game.

Beta feedback

Builds distributed for testing include a feedback tool, the yellow F on every screen. It only ever sends something when you choose to submit feedback. When you do, it sends the kind of feedback you picked, what you typed, where you were (the screen, or your world, room, level, health and shells), the game's version, the device model, the time, and a screenshot of the game screen if you left that option on. These go to a Supabase project used for testing.

What the game never collects

The game requests these permissions: internet access, for Google Play Games sign-in and saves, ads, purchases, stats, crash reports and feedback; network state, which the ads software uses to see whether a connection is available; vibration, for haptic feedback in play; the advertising ID, added by the ads software for advertising; and billing, for the Ads off purchase through Google Play. Google's ads software also adds a few for its own use, such as reading basic phone state, keeping the screen awake during an ad and running a foreground service.

How long data is kept, and deleting it

Your saves and settings are kept on your device for as long as the game is installed, and uninstalling removes them. Your cloud save and achievements are kept by Google in your Play Games account until you delete them through the Play Games app or your Google account. Since we never receive any of this, there is nothing for us to delete.

Data collected by Google's ads software is kept by Google under its own policies, not ours. Resetting or deleting your advertising ID in Android settings breaks the link to the previous identifier. Your Ads off purchase is kept by Google Play with your account, and the order record we can see in Play Console is kept under Google's terms. Anonymous stats are kept by PostHog until we delete them; email us to have yours removed. The note and counters the game keeps on your phone are removed when you uninstall it.

Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically.

Feedback submitted from a testing build is kept while the game is in testing. To have yours removed, or a crash report from your phone, email [email protected] with roughly when it was sent and your device model, since neither is linked to your name.

Step-by-step instructions are on the Delete your data page.

Legal bases, for users in the UK and the EEA

Where the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR applies:

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to and port your personal data. For anything we hold, which in practice means crash reports, anonymous stats, order records for Ads off and beta feedback, write to [email protected]. For data held by Google through its ads software or Google Play, use the controls in your Android settings and your Google account, and the mechanisms in Google's own privacy policy, since that data is not in our hands.

If you think your data has been handled badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

If you are in California

Under the CCPA and CPRA you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion, and request correction. The categories involved are identifiers (the random installation identifier in crash reports and stats, and the advertising ID), device information, internet or network activity (ad interactions), and commercial information (the order record for Ads off, which we see in Google Play Console as product, date, country and order state). The advertising ID and ad interactions are collected by Google's ads software rather than by us.

We do not sell your personal information ourselves. Google's use of ad data may count as selling or sharing under California law, because personalised ads use your advertising ID. If you are in a US state with such a law, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data for ads in Settings, then Ad privacy, and you can also delete or reset your advertising ID in Android settings. Owning Ads off ends the ads software from the next launch after Google Play confirms it. Exercising any right here will not get you worse service.

Children

SlideQuest is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The game is for players aged 13 and over, and its ads are not targeted at children.

Security

Saves sit in the game's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps. Crash reports and feedback are sent over HTTPS, and Google Play Games, Google AdMob and Google Play handle their own connections.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or who receives it, the effective date at the top will change and the game's listing will point at the updated page. Material changes will be called out in the game's release notes rather than made quietly.
